Bamboo fly rods are beautiful, but I also believe they’re exceptional fishing tools – especially the hollow-built bamboo fly rods I painstakingly hand craft in my shop.
They’re lighter, dampen quicker, and offer a livelier feel in the hand than solid bamboo rods, so they offer the beauty and nostalgia of of yesterday’s bamboo – but cast and fish better than bamboo fly rods ever have.
Simply put, these are not your father’s slow, heavy bamboo rods.

Every rod that comes out of my shop represents a significant investment in time, so I build them right; careful hand planing, long-wearing varnish finish, an advanced hollow-building technique, hard-working components, and advanced tapers carefully refined for hollow-building.
I build both six-sided (hex) and four-sided (quad) bamboo fly rods. The two style casts somewhat differently, and each taper is a unique experience.
