In this segment, I show how the female tubing is tapered.  This gives the bamboo fly rod a nice look at the ferrule.  Care must be taken when machining.  Too deep a cut will constrict the opening of the female tubing, causing clearance problems.

Another option, which I will go over next week, is to solder the female onto the male first, and then cut the taper.  Stay tuned for that.
