Bamboo fly rod micro ferrule making

Nickel silver ferrules for bamboo fly rods are traditional, but require care when manufacturing them.

Here, I am taking a slight departure by making some micro ferrules in size 13 for my bamboo fly rods.  The ratio for these micro ferrules is 2.5 to 1.  Japanese-made ferrules tend to be quite thin in wall thickness.

For my use, I am starting out with traditional wall thickness.  This first post includes a YOUTUBE video, and I hope to improve on them as this build progresses.

Here the male ferrule for the tip section of the bamoo fly rod is placed into the collet.  From there, the tubing is relieved for the moisture check.  After that, the male ferrule is cut to length, from the inside out, to a close, but not final, dimension.
